Southlands Mall
Clients wanted to refresh and revitalize the Southlands Mall outdoor areas. Designers had to install a system that was durable and easy to maintain since the system needed to handle pedestrian traffic and various other elements. The concrete pavers chosen were easy to maintain and deice during winter months. They chose to use pavers manufactured by Keystone Hardscapes. Due to the area’s popularity combined with the effects of snow and deicing chemicals, concrete pavers provided the best solution for maintenance. Some unique factors of there pavers were their aesthetics and durability. The ability to utilize high quality concrete pavers with custom color blends was instrumental to the project’s design and success. “Creating a context sensitive and modern update, while working with a product that allowed us to do that, was exactly what we had envisioned,” said Chris Sutterfield, Project Designer. This project was a HNA Awards recipient.
